Selecting the network
- Open Settings (it is normally on Page 1)
- Click the “Wi-Fi” option.
- If it’s turned off, click on the toggle switch to turn it On.
- Select the Network you would like to join. We have provided instructions for different types of networks below for what to do beyond this point.
Open networks
If you have selected an open network, there will be no initial authentication. If the network requires a Captive Portal (like lots of public ones do), it should now pop up automatically. If asked, you will need to go through the login process on the portal (such as agreeing to the terms of use, entering details or entering an access code)
Password-protected networks
As soon as you select the network, you will be required to enter the password to join. Once you enter the correct password, you will be taken back to the main WiFi screen with the network you have joined at the top.
Enterprise networks
These networks require both a username and a password. To join one, enter the login information that has been provided to you. If you have an account at the company which provides the network, you may need to enter your current username and password. If a certificate appears, click “Trust” to continue. If you are connecting to eduroam, use the guide provided to you by your university or other participating institution.
You should be connected
You should now be online! You can either Forget the network or turn Wi-Fi off to disconnect.
